Mortar doesn’t last forever, and failed pointing lets water into the wall, which is when small problems become expensive ones. Done well, repointing is invisible. Repointing done properly
We rake out the old, failed mortar to the right depth, mix a mortar matched to the original in colour and strength and finish the joints to match the existing profile. The result is a wall that’s weathertight again and looks as though nothing’s been touched.

We stitch cracked brickwork, replace spalled or damaged bricks with matched units and make good after damp, movement or old alterations. Where a wall has been patched badly before, we can put it right.

- How do I know if my brickwork needs repointing?
- Look for mortar that’s crumbling, receding, cracked or falling out in bits, and any damp appearing inside. If you can rake the joint out with a screwdriver by hand, it’s due. We’re happy to take a look and give you an honest view.
- Will the new mortar match the old?
- That’s the whole point of doing it properly. We match colour, strength and joint profile so the repair blends in rather than standing out as a patch.
