Mortar doesn’t last forever, and failed pointing lets water into the wall, which is when small problems become expensive ones. Done well, repointing is invisible. Done badly, with the wrong mortar or the wrong colour, it can look worse than the problem and even trap moisture. As bricklayers, repointing and brick repair are squarely our trade.
We rake out the old, failed mortar to the right depth, mix a mortar matched to the original in colour and strength, and finish the joints to match the existing profile. The result is a wall that’s weathertight again and looks as though nothing’s been touched.
We stitch cracked brickwork, replace spalled or damaged bricks with matched units, and make good after damp, movement or old alterations. Where a wall has been patched badly before, we can put it right.
Repointing is priced by area, access and the condition of the joints. A single accessible elevation is a modest job; a full house that needs scaffolding is a bigger one.
